Goalball Angle Calculator

I've added a fun widget to the blog for folks who play Goalball.  This  widget will calculate the angle needed to throw a Goalball "from a" - "to a"  particular spot on the court. It is based on the 1-9 throwing scheme where looking down the court, 1 is to the left and 9 is to the right. Each zone is one meter.

Court length is set at 16 meters to take into account a players throw, starting from their goal. Spots 1-9 are set at the center of each zone. In other words: Zone 1 is .5 meters from the side line, zone 2 is 1.5 meters etc.

Have fun and let me know how it works!

On the Record Episode 7 - Goalball; A Sport for the Blind

This episode of On the Record dives into a topic near and dear to me, Goalball. Goalball is a sport for the blind that I have been playing for about 12 years. Last year in September I had the experience of playing on the Seattle Killer Cobras team, when we placed 2nd in the Goalball National Championships in the B Division. Next month, I'll be going to Atlanta to play in the SouthEast regional tournament as a "pool player."

“In this episode of “On the Record” I interview Richard AH – SIU of the Seattle King Cobras and Honda Sao of the Grit City Sound about the sport of Goalball, a sport specifically designed for blind players. They discuss the ins and outs of the game, Seattle’s trip to the US Nationals, and the international Goalball scene.

Our Metro Parks Goalball Team

One of my favorite things to do is play Goalball. Goalball is a sport for the blind. Here is an article of mine recently published about my recent trip to a Division One Goalball tournament.
